The Swayumbunath stupa is surrounded by scores of prayer wheels, each containing the Buddhist mantra "Om Mani Padme Hum" thousands of times over on a strip of rice paper. When you spin the wheels, the mantra is then released into the air, as if you've just chanted the mantra again and again at incredible speed.
