A meditating Sadhu in Patan

The city of Patan, due south of Kathmandu, has its own Durbar square as well. It's home to many Sadhus, like the one here. Most Sadhus are followers of the god Shiva, which you can always tell by the three stripes on their forhead and their trident of Shiva, which many sadhus carry with them. But beyond this trident, their saffron robes, and perhaps an alms bowl, sadhus are ascetics who own next to nothing and survive on the kindness of others. In this case, our friend here survives on the kindness of tourists wanting to get a good picture.
