A Sadhu at Calcutta's Temple of Kali

This sadhu was one of the thousands of pilgrims visiting Calcutta's Kalighat, the temple of Kali that gave Calcutta its name. Hundreds of people were crushing themselves through the numerous gateways into the temple that morning, many of them coming to take part in the morning goat sacrifice. But despite the incredible chaos, this sadhu stood in the middle of the courtyard, staring catatonically into space. I think this is one of the best pictures.
