The Tibetan monks of Bodnath

Surrounding the Bodnath stupa are several large gompas, Tibetan Buddhist monastaries, representing a variety of sects. Because Tibetans are no longer allowed to practice their religion freely in their homeland, Bodnath and other Tibetan refugee communities around Kathmandu have become havens for religious expression and devotion.
